I’ve always been a geeky gal. Fantasy, superheroes, magic, crime, historical. Honestly, my interests are hugely varied which is going to express itself through my writing.

I don’t want to be typecast, either.

My first book, “Love, Lies, & Espionage” is a spy thriller.

The book I’m writing now?

A fantasy epic.

Books I’m planning on writing?

Anything that interests me. One of the most important pieces of advice I got is to write for me. What do I want to read? What inspires me? If I’m writing for an audience or forcing myself into a particular genre because ‘that’s what’s popular’ then my books won’t be good.

The books I have planned right now range from fantasy, thriller, crime, and even faith. Though, in the far-reaching future, or maybe sooner if inspiration overcomes me, I could write sci-fi, true life based, non-fiction. I don’t know and I don’t want to limit myself. That’s not the kind of person I am.

Now, for some, the word ‘faith’ book may have made your bellies tighten. I am Christian and I am not ashamed of that. When I do finally write a faith book, it will say it is a faith book. Admittedly, my personal beliefs may leak out into other books, just like if you, dear reader, wrote something your personal ideologies would. But it’s not my goal to shove my beliefs on anyone or to discretely wheedle my belief systems into a fantasy or thriller or anything I write. So, if in the future, I have a book and the subtitle reads: ‘a faith novel’ or some such, know that’s what it is. If it isn’t something that you are interested in, then don’t read it. You won’t offend me.

I fully expect that if I get a following some readers may only like certain genres that I write. That’s fine. I know readers here at home who have loved my spy thriller, but I am also quite aware that my next book may not tweak their fancy. Fantasy is not for everyone. Just like not everyone likes spy thrillers.
